Mirror, Mirror on the Wall Who Am I?

The mirror from the story Snow White is well-known to most people. The evil queen wanted recognition as the fairest person of them all. And, this behavior suggests that the queen had gone mad due to what she saw in the mirror. But, the evil queen did not see her true self. Neither, with or without a mirror. Furthermore, what she saw in the mirror was strictly of the mind. These mind interpretations obscured the innate presence, stillness and beauty within the queen. The queen’s dilemma happens to us each day because we look but do not truly see.

mirror

Okay, let’s expand on this topic. What happens when you stand in front of a mirror? What do you see? You probably answer this question with the obvious answer that you see yourself. This is what the mind has taught you to see, think and believe. Nevertheless, I ask that you look beyond what the mind’s interpretation of your reflection. Therefore, look deep within yourself. Likewise, use the reflection of yourself strictly as a passage to the inner self. Now, ask yourself again. What do you see? Realize that there is a depth to your beingness that is not obvious at first glance. Continue reading

Experience What Is Instead of What Is Not

Words often confuse us. And the word experience is an example of this confusion. We claim that our experiences influence our behavior. Similarly, the mind is adept in placing labels and definitions onto our experiences. Thus, the mind super-imposes conditioning factors onto everything. And, we just go along for the ride.

experience

Let’s put this into perceptive from a conscious awakening standpoint. You do not necessarily participate in any given experience through your awareness to the situation. Yes, I realize this statement is first confusing. Something happens, such as a cup of water falling from the table to the floor. You are aware that the cup has fallen. Nevertheless, your awareness does not prevent you from complaining because the cup fell. Does the immediate situation cause your discomfort? Or, are you actually reenacting a conditioned reaction from a similar circumstance? Continue reading

Quality Experience Depends on You

An ultimate quality within any given experience is not really prevalent. The mind often deters us from consciously experiencing something. Therefore, we repeat the same behavioral patterns over and over. Most people stay on a conditioned one way street throughout the unfolding of any given day. Furthermore, human traits influence how we interact with any situation.

quality

Emotional traits such as anxiety or fear, for example, are destructive to our state of presence. A person cannot experience life quality when overshadowed by mind baggage. This distorts the unfolding of a given moment with illusion imprints. It does this very efficiently when a person is not living in the moment. We should also remember that quality is only a word. This word, as any word, and its meaning will vary from person to person. However, don’t take word meanings or interpretations too seriously. When we speak of quality it would be more appropriate to express this at the level of absoluteness. Therefore, using a mind-made quality label seems ambiguous.

Song of Rain and Sun

The song of life is playing. Do you hear it? It had started to rain during a hot day where I live. It was a beautiful spring shower. I could hear the rain drops falling onto the trees. It was mesmerizing to hear the gentle song of life as the rain fell upon the leaves. However, I realized that I was not actually hearing the rain or wind. Furthermore, the experience was intensified through active awareness to the present moment.

song

What I sensed was the energy vibrations as the rain fell. It felt as if I was moving in response to the tree limb movements as each swayed to and fro in the wind. I smiled as I considered what my friend would say if he would see me in that moment. What would my friend answer if I would ask him if he likes the rain? This caused me to smile even more because I know that he would complain about the rain and say that the sun should shine. Moreover, it would be impossible to suggest that life was singing to him in that moment. The song of life usually remains unnoticed by most people. Continue reading

A Day Filled with Miracles: Part Two

Do Miracles happen every day? Moreover, what is a miracle? We automatically associate a miracle with religion, a deity or some other supernatural power. Google Search offers this definition.

“Miracle: A surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.”

miracles

We have convinced ourselves; through lack of explainable definitions, that a miracle originates from a good greater than ours. What if it is nothing more than life manifesting itself through a given object? Furthermore, what if a proclaimed miracle has neither motive nor a purpose? What if it is just a result of life flowing naturally? Here again human beings have superimposed a form definition unto an occurrence that is perhaps nothing more than the flow of energy. Dominoes: That’s the Way They Fall

There are different variations of the game Dominoes. It originated during the Song Dynasty in China. This game, however, is not the topic of this article. We can compare this to our behavior in areas of consciousness and life energy. The mind is said to be very complex. At Least, this is what we generally “think”. The mind does what it does without any need for conscious intervention; despite its supposed complexity. The human consciousness has reached a level of awakened acknowledgment. This ancient knowledge has always been there. However, it usually remains buried in the content detail fragments of our existence. A shift is from mind to conscious awareness is necessary.

Dominoes

The process of thinking can be compared to the game of falling dominoes. An initial thought is sudden there. Why it is there and where it came from are irrelevant. However, let us ask the obvious. What happens to a thought when it suddenly appears? Likewise, how do you interact with this thought? A person’s first reaction might be to say that the answer for this question is very complex. Therefore my question is…why do we insist on complexity instead of simplicity? Continue reading
